In Mush, every player controls one of 18 playable characters in a 16 person crew.
This article serves as an overview of the characters and their basic function. Please refer to each character's respective article (see table on the right) for in-depth information, tips and tricks.
Depending on which character you play, you will have a different field of expertise, set of abilities and general play style. Each of the characters is unique in:
- their choice of 5-6 Skills
- their personal
Glory objective
- if applicable, their unique character trait
- their place in the Title hierarchy
Note: There are two alternative continuities in Mush: The orgininal one featuring Finola and Chao as heads of research and security, respectively, and a version where events transpired that caused them to be replaced by Andie and Derek instead. Which one the game uses depends on the current season, or the individual setting of a Casting ship.
Andie Graham

Genuinely gifted, and capable of taking any task on, Andie is ready to do anything for the good of the Federation... or not?

Andie's Polyvalent skill is very helpful both during research, which is often his/her main responsibility as replacement of Finola, and on expeditions, where he/she can also be the Pilot. As the crew's Confident, Andie can keep up the Morale while also helping to find the Mush. Also, his/her Devotion and Expert skills can give him/her extra and better chances of success.

Former investigative journalist, her goal is to contact any rebel bases still operating. One of the most observant crewmembers, she is as brilliant as she is honest, but don't worry – that can be cured!
|

Eleesha is the primary detective of the Daedalus crew, her role being the detection of Mush using her various tools such as Tracker and Observant, usually in close contact with Chun. As the second-in-line for the Communications Officer title, and by the utility of her Technician and IT Expert skills, she can also be useful to the crew after her Mush-hunting role has been fulfilled.

A doctor of both medicine and biology, Finola's life's work revolves around making the world a better place. Her research and healing skills make her invaluable on board.
|

Finola is nearly always found in Laboratory or Medlab. Due to her Biologist and Medic skills she is the primary researcher of the Daedalus - but never without the Stainproof Apron, for her unique Trait Germaphobe requires her to stay clean at all times. If she picks up Medic, she is the main healer on board, even more effective when paired with Nurse. Her Diplomat skill can also make her an important expedition-team member.

An eccentric billionaire, caffeine-junkie and owner of the Daedalus, his fortune is threatened by the Mush menace. He will do everything in his power to wipe it out. Not to be underestimated!

The owner of the Daedalus, Gioele can restrict Mushy activity by using his unique Paranoid and Victimizer skills. He can also use Solid to move people around, or to defend his beloved ship from the Mush. Additionally his Caffeine Junkie and Astrophysicist skills can make him the ultimate generalist or planet-scanner once the PILGRED Reactor is up.

Allows you to accuse a crewmember at a time, worsening their action success chances and turning all of their Covert actions into Secret actions. Grants you a +8 bonus if an accused Mush dies, and a -8 penalty if an accused human dies.

Chief pilot of the Daedalus, Hua specializes in exploration missions. They say she can land where she wants, when she wants, and in any conditions you care to dream up.
|

Hua is one of the main Pilots of the ship. When not killing hunters, she loves to explore planets, where her Botanist, Survivalist and U-Turn skills can make her the ultimate expedition-team member. However, her Technician skill can also be very helpful on board.

An expedition skill, this adds a bonus Alien Steak during Provision events, reduces all damage taken by the Survivalist by 1 , and increase their chances to survive Death events (Volcanoes do not count).

4 Technician
|
Grants 1 daily for free repairs, vastly improves repair chances and allows to dismantle various objects for material, as well as reinforce them against sabotage.

5 Determined
|
Speeds up the rate at which action success chances increase after subsequent failures.

6 U-Turn
|
Allows to immediately abort an ongoing expedition and return to the Daedalus for 2 .

A born leader, Jin Su is the supreme commander of the Daedalus. He is in charge of piloting the ship. - Towards planets for expeditions and, most importantly, towards Eden.

At the head of the chain of command is Commander Jin Su. Jin's primary job is to move the Daedalus through the vast reaches of space, but he also provides strong support for the crew thanks to his Leader and Logistics Expert skills. His Strateguru, Pilot and Shooter skills let him reduce the hunter threat both actively and passively.

An astrophycisist and the ship's designer, Kuan Ti knows it like the back of his hand and has privileged access to NERON. If a Nexus project is underway, you can be sure he is involved!

Kuan Ti's Designer and Technician skills are ideal for advancing NERON Projects. And while he does not like to get dirty, the latter is also good for general maintenance. After he is done with NERON projects, he can further help finding planets with his Astrophysicist skill. And if Jin Su does not provide, he can also give to the crew with Leader... or ursurp his command with Politician.

Roland is a brilliant pilot who is not nearly as funny as he thinks he is. However, his dogfighting skills are no laughing matter. He's got a gift, and he's never happier than when he's shooting down Hunters.

A very good fighter pilot due to his innate Pilot, Shooter and Creative skills, Roland is at his best when placed in a patrol ship. He can also take Sprinter to improve his mobility on board and help on expeditions, or Firefighter to keep the ship from burning up.

Chao is in charge of security aboard the ship, aka taking care of brain-frozen crew and the Mush. His Shooter and Wrestler skills give him the highest offensive capabilities out of all the crew members and his Crazy Eye skill shields him from retribution. He also possesses the unique Torturer skill, which allowing him to extract information from unwilling crew members. His habit to carry weapons and his Survivalist make him helpful on expeditions.

Our last hope. She must survive and make the journey to Eden. She inspires the crew to achieve more, and when misfortune befalls her comrades she is always there to patch them up.
|
|
Chun is the one to lead and coordinate the Mush-Hunt, for she is Immunized, which makes her Mankind's only hope, and can always be trusted. Therefore she is always one of the leaders of the ship, but also primary target for the Mush, and easy to find: She will usually stay in the Laboratory to enable anti-mush research. Being a Sneak can help there, in addition to the Plastenite Armor she usually wears, just in case. If she acts as a Nurse, she can be the other main healer besides Finola, while Premonition can help her confirm Eleesha's suspicions. Finally her Lethargy skill will let her accumulate a lot of if she stays in bed for extended periods of time.
