Pilot is a common yet crucial skill that enables permanent access to the various ships aboard the Daedalus, which are far superior to turrets when it comes to eliminating Hunters.
Pilots have a 30% increased base hit chance when firing from a patroller (80% instead of 50%), and will never cause accidents when starting or landing craft.
Having a expedition member with this skill prevents negative landing events when exploring a planet via the Icarus even if they aren't the one initiating said expedition.
