Finola should swap this for 
Medic as soon as she can. She'll lose a bonus on certain NERON projects in exchange for bonus healing and the ability to perform surgery. Of course, taking both means you get two research bonuses.
Ian with this skill can contribute twice as much in between watering his precious bananas, and Paola can speed up research after she finished phoning her boyfriend.
At least one of them having this skill will be important in case something happens to Finola (including being replaced by Andie Graham) in order to keep the research going, especially by having someone who can progress the 
Retro-Fungal Serum by more than 1%.
