Icon Trapper
Description: Surprise!
  • For 1 Action Point, you can booby trap a shelf unit with a Spore. If someone touches the Unit, they will become Infected. If they are Icon Mush, the spore is lost.

The in-game description is misleading, as the effect is not limited to shelf units, but expands to all interactive objects in the room, including ships, terminals etc. When somebody falls victim to the trap, the following log is generated in the Icon Mush channel:

[Victim] has been infected by rummaging in a shelving unit which had been booby-trapped by [user]. Their contamination level is currently [level].

General effects

  • New action: Booby-Trap Unit
    • Cost: 1 Action Point, 1 Icon Spore
    • Target: None
    • Privacy: Icon Secret
    • Effect: Places a spore in the current room.
      • Maximum of 1 spore per room.
      • Consumes a spore to infect any character who performs a room action.
        • Room actions mean action button presses with interactive room objects, such as Pick Up, Access Terminal, Launch etc.
          • Interacting with your inventory (dropping items etc) and viewing shelf units do not count as such.
          • Work with Examine action
        • No effect on Icon Chun or Icon Mush, spore will be wasted.
    • Room Log: Looking like the most normal thing in the world, [user] seemed to slip something into the shelving unit.
