While this will not help you if you already ran into a bad event, this skill allows you to gamble for, say, getting to a planet's Oxygen space before the Volcanoes and then bail. And it generally gives you some room for riskier expeditions, with people at lower health if need be, because you can always abort when someone drops dangerously low.
Can be used by mush to sabotash important expo. For example,you are sure then another pilot got low AP he eat and start expo... you need oxygen fast... so you break this expo and return ship back. Well it some sort of rush so you should plan this move nice but it can give you a profit.
