Choosing a Character

This page is in progress. The goal is to give an at-a-glance overview of the difficulty of playing each character for beginners. The rating in each category is completely subjective so far, feel free to edit and/or discuss things in the talk page. )

Welcome, beginner! You are faced with up to four characters, one of which you will incarnate for the duration of the game: from a few days to a couple of weeks. Each one has a unique role, each one will play a unique part in the story. This page aims at giving you clues at what will be expected from each character, so that you and the rest of the crew will have the most fun and the least pressure in the game.

Each character is rated according to the following criterias:

Frequency of connection		Your job can be done easily even if you only connect once a day.
		You might need to be available several times a day, or at irregular intervals.
		You will be expected to be often online, watching and ready to act.
Communication		You can be rather independent, and mostly need to communicate about your own task.
		You need to keep an eye on what is happening around you, to be active in the general discussion.
		You are expected to know in details everything that happens on-board. You have an important role in the general discussion.
Required learning		You will easily know what to do, by reading the wiki page regarding your skill or by listening to other players tips.
		Your job is rather complex. Take the time to read the wiki, or have a good discussion with other players.
		You will need to know many things about different aspects of the ship.
Role-play tip	Personality and main task of each character: some characters will suit you better than others.

Character Choosing Tips

Andie Graham Pilot Despite being a boot-licker, everybody loves her. Or maybe him, no-one knows really. Recommended upgrades: 3 Polyvalent	Zhong Chun Mankind's only hope The only certified Human, she must take the difficult decisions in the mush hunt. It is not recommended in bronze mode to upgrade Chun past Level 1.
Derek Hogan Shooter Knows best how to handle a blaster, he is always ready to do the dirty work. Recommended upgrades: 2 Wrestler 5 Hygienist	Eleesha Williams Tracker Main detective of the ship, she tracks and questions people to know their hidden secrets. It is not recommended in bronze mode to upgrade Eleesha past Level 1.
Frieda Bergmann Astrophysicist Astrophysicist, her role is to find the planets with the resources the ship needs. It is not recommended in bronze mode to upgrade Frieda past Level 1.	Gioele Rinaldo Solid The Strong owner of the ship, ready to use his hands wherever they're needed. Recommended upgrades: 2 Paranoid 3 Caffeine Junkie
Jiang Hua Pilot A pilot always on the watch to take a patrol ship whenever enemies appear, also keen on going to expedition. It is not recommended in bronze mode to upgrade Hua past Level 1.	Ian Soulton Botanist Peace, love, and bananas. He waters his plants and gives a hand here and there. Recommended upgrades: 2 Biologist
Kim Jin Su Leader The Supreme Commander of the ship! He gives orders, and, whenever possible, the right orders. Recommended upgrades: 2 Pilot 5 Logistics Expert	Janice Kent Shrink Psychologist, she always knows who could do with a comforting word... even if it is NERON, the ship's computer. It is not recommended in bronze mode to upgrade Janice past Level 1.
Lai Kuan Ti Designer As a designer of the Daedalus, Kuan Ti mostly helps improving his beloved ship. Recommended upgrades: 4 Technician	Paola Rinaldo Radio Expert Her title of Communication Officer comes with a set of important jobs which she alone can tackle. Recommended upgrades: 2 Logistics Expert
Raluca Tomescu Physicist Staying away from the crowds, she is the quiet queen of the necessary PILGRED repairs. Recommended upgrades: 3 Technician	Roland Zuccali Sprinter As a sprinter, he is always ready to do the urgent jobs, even if they're at the other end of the Daedalus. Recommended upgrades: 2 Pilot
Stephen Seagull Chef Since cooking is not demanding in the Daedalus, the Chef is there when more manpower is needed for a task. Recommended upgrades: 5 Apprentice	Terrence Archer Robotics Expert His love for drones only matches his frustration at moving difficultly. Recommended upgrades: 2 Technician

Note: All this is for Bronze players only: if anyone is willing to do something similar for other modes, that'd be great (but maybe in a different page, in order not to confuse beginners)
