Andie Graham, in the flesh.

Andie Graham is a new upcoming character. (S)he and Derek Hogan may occasionally replace Icon Finola Keegan and Icon Wang Chao, respectively, turning the ship into an alternate timeline version where Finola was not captured and Chao didn't make it through the mission.

Skills

Andie's skill set consists of:

  1. Icon Pilot
  2. Icon Dévotion
    • Gains a bonus 3 Action Point when accepting a Commander mission.
    • Potential English name (based on icon filename): Devoted
  3. Icon Polyvalent
    • You are considered Icon Botanist, Icon Diplomat and Icon Biologist, but you do not gain their special actions or action points.
    • Potential English name (based on icon filename): Skillful
  4. Icon Confident
    • Once a day, other crewmembers can confide into you to regain 2 Morale, in turn revealing their X most recent actions to you, with X being your current Morale.
    • Potential English name: Confidant
  5. Icon Expert
    • Your actions have a 20% increased success chance, at the expense of a higher chance of injury and of becoming Icon Dirty.

How to play

Andie seems to be a person of many skills, but also torn between several responsibilities:

While Icon Devoted is only mediocre in terms of Action Point / day, and resticting the Commander in his mission choices, the ability to gain 6 Action Point on the fly (pun intended) can be excellent for a Icon Pilot fighting hunters or collecting scrap (especially combined with food, and Teslatron Reservoir). Also adding better hit chances from Icon Expert, this combination would arguably make him/her the most capable pilot on board.

Replacing Icon Finola, however, (s)he will likely be expected to pick Icon Skillful and spearhead the research as she would, especially if Icon Ian is not a Icon Biologist. This, in turn, will not leave much time for other demanding jobs. So much like with Icon Frieda, the pilot skill may turn out to be more of a backup, and a help to conduct expeditions. - Which, again, Andie is very good at (arguably better than Icon Hua, except for survival) thanks to the great Icon Diplomat bonus, and extra Icon Unknown item from being considered a Icon Botanist.

Being everyone's Icon Confidant(e) lets Andie help the ship's morale, as well as help with the Mush hunt by clearing people of suspicion. And finally, the general Action Point bonus and success chances from being Devoted + Expert can enable him/her to do just about anything better than the average crew member, if needed.

So all in all, (s)he will be a good choice for players who put the ship first, and are willing to fill in whatever role will be needed the most.

Notes

  • As with Derek Hogan, Andie's character artwork seems to have been done by a different artist. It may or may not be temporary.
  • Everyone can flirt with Andie, and s/he can do the thing with everyone. They are therefore the first bisexual character on the ship. Originally written as a bisexual, androgynous male, Andie was rewritten with an ambiguous gender (and the pronouns changed accordingly in their bio), most likely to allow the players to roleplay Andie as they wish (male or female, straight, bi or gay).
