Trading is a feature introduced in which allows the
Communications Officer to trade objects, resources, NERON Projects and even crew members to passing alien transporter ships via the Comms Center.
To partake in trading, the Shortwave Radio feature must be accessed on the Comms Center. While the entire crew may view the Shortwave Radio screen, only the
Communications Officer can perform the trades. The
Hacker Kit cannot be used to override this.
Transporter
To trade, an alien Transporter ship must be present outside the Daedalus, and space must be free of all hostile craft such as Hunters. Its arrival and departure are announced by NERON in the general chat tab.Transporters can be targeted and destroyed by turrets and patrollers, potentially leaving useful items in the wreckage. Shooting the Transporter and refusing trade offers will prompt it to leave on the following cycle.
Confirm: Meridon Scrambler research causing hunters to fire at the Transporter?
Completing a trade
During the trade, the aliens will offcer a randomized transaction which can be accepted or declined. Accepting or declining an offer costs 2
.
The primary subject of trades are items located in any of the ship's storage rooms. However, NERON Projects and even characters can be part of a transaction. The Shortwave Radio interface displays the respective request and offer.
Items and Resources
Any items located in the ship's storages, as well as ship resources such as
Oxygen and
Fuel, may be traded for random exchange goods.
Note: Even
Hidden objects are visible in the "Objects present for exchange" box and may be traded at will.
NERON Projects
You can trade one of your completed projects for another project that has not been completed yet. The exchanged projects, both sold and bought, are random and cannot be chosen.
Note: It is possible to trade away Gold Projects from the Vending Machine.
Characters
Trading permits the exchange of
Inactive and
Highly Inactive crew members from the storage rooms for various benefits. To get them in position for trading, it is advisable to have at least one
Solid or
Wrestler character for the sake of the Kick them out! action (which costs less for
Inactive targets) so that they can eventually be kicked all the way into a storage room.
Reported character exchange goods include
Oxygen, a random NERON Project, and even a finished PILGRED Reactor (for an inactive
Raluca).
Bug: The in-game description states that
Inactive characters can be traded from the Bridge. However, this is currently false; they must be in a storage room just like any other tradable object. The same applies for
Highly Inactive characters.
