The Myco-Alarm is an instrument which becomes available in a pack of 5 via the MycoAlarm Research project.
When dropped in a room's shelf, it will display a Public "BRIIIIING!" alert in the room log if a
Mush directly infects somebody in that room. It will work if hidden, but will have no effect in a character's inventory.
Usage
TODO: Add strategy regarding Myco-Alarm usage; recommended rooms, etc.
The Pheromodem research obsoletes Myco-Alarms, as the
Mush communication channel will immediately display any sporing that occurs, and the obscured names can typically be guessed at by their amount of letters and the time it happened.
Upcoming changes
In the upcoming update, the Myco-Alarm also detects the special actions of
Fungal Kitchen,
Trapper,
Radio Pirate,
Nightmarish,
Bacteriophiliac and
Transfer, as well as Infectious Caress (on
Schrödinger) and the act of mutating into a
Berzerker. To balance this, only 4 Myco-Alarms will be produced from the research.
