(Just left a game in which I was wearing the armor and damage by standard punches was not reduced. Frustratingly.)

Plastenite Armor protects its wielder from harm sustained by combat damage aboard the ship - but does not protect against other sources of damage (Steel Plates, Room Shaking, hurting yourself etc.), nor does it protect against damage on Expeditions.

Icon Bug: Seems to decide to arbitrarily not work for reducing combat damage on the ship. Causes unknown. Use caution when relying on the armor.

This is generally a useful item for Icon Chun to carry, as she may expect hostility from the Icon Mush onboard, and her possession of it means that a Mush won't use it to protect themselves.

Icon Bug: The interaction with Icon Hard Boiled is wonky at best; there have been cases of the effects canceling each other out.

  • When examined, this item displays the following text:
Plastenite armor is made from bio-sensitive latex and highly flexible materials, which make it light, comfortable, and almost invisible. Some find it a little effeminate and compare it to a military version of Spanx control pants. We're guessing that the moulded breastplate doesn't help. Truth is though, you're better off looking ridiculous than dead.
