A Blueprint is a plan which allows the Daedalus crew to construct one certain object using specific components. All specified parts, as well as the Blueprint itself, are used up to create the item. It costs 3 
to construct; anybody may do so as long as the blueprint and all materials are in the same room (though the builder's inventory also counts).
The Daedalus starts off with 4 Blueprints on-ship. An additional 3 Blueprints can be recovered from the Xyloph DB. The selection of Blueprints is mostly random, with a few rules to keep it in check; for instance, the Daedalus always starts with at least one 
Swedish Sofa Blueprint.
Also, picking 
Robotics Expert creates an additional Blueprint for a 
Support Drone in the user's inventory.
Warning: You cannot recover unique materials used in Blueprint construction! Take care when creating the 
White Flag, as that will rob the crew of 
Soap.
