For 1 you can use the action "Torture" on a person. This action is aggressive and therefore influenced by Ian's pacifism, but a sleeping person won't wake up / leaving the bed after it was tortured. The tortured person will lose 1 and a private log entry will appear. Only visible for you are listed as much last actions of the person as the total amount of missing of the victim. Dropping and picking up of objects won't be revealed. There is a small chance that you will hurt yourself while doing this action (comparable with hurting because of picking up of objects).

Actions with Torture show up differently in the log, for example, if the character you tortured someone who had just hidden something, it would show as "Hide", it does not give a location/detailed description.
