Resources

Daedalus has three key resources that must be maintained at an appropriate level to make the game could go on. Oxygen O2.png, Fuel Fuel.png and Armor Shield.png.

Oxygen

The most difficult to maintain an appropriate level is O2.png Oxygen. At the end of each cycle, one unit is subtracted from the oxygen tank - regardless of the number of alive players or relation P alive.png Mush / P mush.png Human. If either or both of oxygen tanks are damaged, the two units of oxygen will be subtracted at the end of the cycle. When the oxygen level reaches O2alert.png 0 at the end of cycle one of human crew member dies.

Plants

Oxygen can be obtained from Plant youngling.png plants grown in a Hydroponic Garden. Each adult plant produces one unit of oxygen at the end of the day (end of 8 cycle). The plants can not build an efficient system of oxygen supply, since the average ship is capable of producing 5 units of oxygen (limited number of pots to 5, in rare cases more) with daily consumption of a minimum of 8 units.

Explorations

More efficient but also more dangerous way to obtain oxygen are Planet.png planetary explorations. If the analysis Astrophysicist.png indicates the presence of oxygen on planet, the expedition can gain from 0 to 24 units of oxygen depending of success rate.

Fuel

Fuel Fuel.png is necessary to move the Daedalus. The maximum fuel level is 32 units, which should be sufficient for an average game. However, it may happen that a intensive and long-term exploration of the planets will be necessary to replenish the fuel. The only way of obtaining fuel are explorations of planets on which there Hydrocarbon deposits.

Armor

The armor Shield.png of the ship represents the consistency of their construction, at the beginning of the game is 100. If armor drops to 0 ship is falling apart and the entire crew is killed ending the game. The main factor influencing the reduction of armor are Hunter icon.png hunters and asteroids. Damage inflicted by hunters and asteroids are counted at the end of each cycle, if any of them are currently flying around the ship.

The frequency of hunters and asteroids makes it necessary to supplement the armor in the game. This can be done by repairing the ship, this action is available in any room in which there are scrap metal. Each member of the crew can make repairs, one-time repair of armor adds Shield.png 5 points and requires one scrap metal. Base chance of success for all crew members (tech and non-tech alike) is 25%. This is raised to 37% with the wrench. The oscilloscope raises the amount of hull repair provided by each scrap metal to 10 and when wrench and oscilloscope are held, chances of success are 75%.
