When you have a room with 5 plants and 95 post it notes, you have a 5% chance that a plant (or more) is consumed. It's not a thought that fires consume certain items first, it's an attempt to play the odds and give a fire something *other* than plants to destroy in hopes the RNG picks those instead. Use of Post Its
I rolled back the edit that mentioned that post it notes don't prevent fire and here's why.
Technically, they don't. But when you have a room with 5 plants and that's all, you have a 100% chance that a plant (or more) will be consumed. When you have a room with 5 plants and 95 post it notes, you have a 5% chance that a plant (or more) is consumed. It's not a thought that fires consume certain items first, it's an attempt to play the odds and give a fire something *other* than plants to destroy in hopes the RNG picks those instead.
