This hit him really hard, because his fish just turned out to be idiots with no intellect to speak of whatsoever. However, enabling himself to communicate with any and all life forms made him millions when he sold his invention to dog owners... Cats never deigned to speak to humans. After the first encounters with xenomorphs occurred, he became extremely rich
